TTK Chitra Heart Valve Substitutes (Rigid Tilting Disc)
Intended Use
The Rigid Tilting Disc TTK Chitra Heart Valve Substitute is intended for use as a replacement valve in patients with a diseased, damaged or malfunctioning aortic or mitral heart valve. This device may also be used to replace a previously implanted prosthetic heart valve.
Types
Product Description - Model TC1
TTK Chitra Heart Valve is a long term use medical device shall be assigned to Class D, as it is intended to be used in direct contact with the heart, the central circulatory system.The two types of Heart Valves manufactured are Aortic and Mitral which differs only in the shape of the Sewing Ring.
The valve incorporates a Tilting Disc from Ultra High Molecular Weight Poly Ethylene (UHMWPE), pivoted eccentrically in the metallic frame integrally machined from Cobalt-Chromium alloy (Haynes 25). The sewing ring of Poly Ethylene Terephthalate (PET) is fitted snugly around the frame and is used to suture the valve at the intended position in the heart.

The two variants of TTK Chitra Heart Valves are Model TC1 and TC1-H which differ only in the presence of a pre-mounted accessory in the package.
Heart Valve of Model TC1 is available in 13 different configurations of size and type. The two different types available are Aortic and Mitral

Intended Use
The CardiaMed Prosthetic bi-leaflet heart valve is intended for the replacement of diseased aortic and mitral native human heart valves.
Product Description
Prosthetic heart valves CardiaMed ADM and MDM Consists of the following components:
- Housing with stiffening titanium–alloy ring
- Sewing cuffs of various forms to ensure the best anatomical fit of the valve
- Two semi-disk-shaped leaflets pivoting between open and closing positions.
Specific characteristic of the CardiaMed valve are:
- Solid pyrolitic carbon leaflets and housing;
- Leaflets that can freely rotate within the housing when closing;
- Available in reduced cuff for better positioning in narrow situations.
Over 150,000 valves have been implanted worldwide and that no recalls have taken place nor substantial incidents that were due to the product.

Products Under Development
The next generation TTK Chitra - Titanium Heart Valve (Model TC2) is a rigid tilting disc mechanical heart valve substitute. It has three components:
- Metal frame made of Titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN)
- Disc made of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) which is pivoted eccentrically in the metal frame and
- Sewing ring made of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) fabric, fixed around the metal frame.
Model TC2 valve has undergone comprehensive in vitro and pre-clinical evaluation conforming to the requirements of IS/ISO 5840:2005 and IS0 5840:2015 and is now undergoing Clinical investigation.
